Soul in a Bowl stage one provides the opportunity for members to attend our ‘cook and eat’ sessions. It vitally teaches cookery skills, builds self-confidence and self-esteem, and provides the opportunity for teamworking and obtaining skills and qualifications to allow progression into self-sufficiency and employment.
We now have a collaboration with The Chester Townhouse Hotel where graduates from our Soul in a Bowl sessions can learn skills within the hospitality industry to better enable them to move back into employment. (photo) The Sunset Café at the Chester Townhouse operates every Friday from 11:00am to 3:00pm, serving delicious snacks and lunches to the public. It’s giving great experience and skills to the team members from Soul in a Bowl who are loving the opportunity to learn about hospitality from the hotel’s team. It gave Ibrahim the confidence to apply for a job with Pizza Express and he is now working there full time and thriving.
